The Rapaces de Gap ( Gap officially Hockey Club ) is a French ice hockey team from Gap, which participates in the Ligue Magnus since 2009. The Gap HC was founded in 1937.

History

The association founded in 1937, launched eight years later in the second highest league level in the Championship mode. In the following years the club to the championship of the second highest French league took part, for the season 1962/63 succeeded for the first time the jump in the Ligue Magnus. His most successful period witnessed the club in the late 1970s, as in 1977 and 1978, the French championship was won.

Moreover, the association took in the seasons 1977/78 and 1978/79 part in the European Cup. Both attended the team retired in the first round from the competition, against the Cologne EC and HC Bolzano, the team had no chance and lost the return match each with double-digit results.

After several ups and downs of the club in 1996 won the championship for the first time in Division 1, the second- highest division in the French Ice Hockey. This success was repeated in the 2008/ 09 season, making the team climb back into the Ligue Magnus. The following year, the collection was ensured in the playoffs in two games, the club was defeated by the HC Morzine -Avoriaz and failed in the first round.
