Rás Tailteann

The An Post Rás ( FBD Insurance Rás until 2010, before Rás Tailteann ) is an Irish road race.

The race was held in 1953 for the first time and went to the initiative of a lawyer from Dublin, Joe Christle, back, whose brother Colm also won the first edition. Joe Christle had his two brothers, Colm and Mick, crowded, the race must win, so do not auffalle that there was no prize money. It was the first stage race in Ireland.

An Post Rás is since then, every May and goes through eight stages. Since 2005, one of the race for the UCI Europe Tour and is classified in category 2.2. Record winner is the Irishman Sé O'Hanlon, who won the race four times for themselves. As the only German Tony Martin won the Tour in 2007.
