Rashid Sharifi

Rashid Sharifi ( born September 21, 1984) is an Iranian weightlifter in the super heavyweight ( over 105 kg).

Sharifi moved as an Iranian participants in the super heavyweight Olympic champion Hossein Rezazadeh behind double at the 2008 Summer Olympics after which just before the Beijing Games after a car accident had announced his resignation. At the Olympic competition in the class over 105 kg Sharifi had to compete in the assessed as weaker group B without the favorites for the title, in this he won but with 13 kg lead over the Germans Almir Velagic. Overall, he placed sixth place in the snatch and clean and jerk together upscale 426 kg as the best Asian in the victory of Matthias Steiner.

Previously, he had already won the 2008 gold medal at the Asian Championships in Kanazawa Japan.
