Ravichandran (actor)

Ravichandran ( born 1940 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, † July 25, 2011 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India) was an Indian actor, screenwriter and film director of the Tamil film, primarily of the 1960s and 1970s.

Life

Ravichandran was born as a PS Raman in Malaysia, 1951, he first came to India. He studied at St. Joseph 's College, Tiruchirappalli.

He made his film debut in 1964 in CV Sridhars playing in Ooty Comedy Kadalikka Neramillai. In addition to J. Jayalalithaa, he played the lead role in Kumari Penn ( 1966). In K. Balachanders Kaviyath Thalaivi (1970 ) - a remake of Asit Sen Bengali classic Uttar Falguni 1963 - he stood with S. Janaki and Gemini Ganesan in front of the camera.

Ravichandran was married twice - first husband of Malayalam actress Sheela - and had four children. He died of multiple organ failure at Apollo Hospital in Chennai.
