Ray LaMontagne

Raymond Charles " Ray" LaMontagne ( born June 18, 1973 in Nashua, New Hampshire) is an American singer-songwriter of folk-rock.

Life

Ray Lamontagne began his musical career after he had heard the song Treetop Flyer 1991 from the album Stills Alone by Stephen Stills. He announced at the shoe factory where he had worked until then. He organized themselves independently gigs in small bars, played as support local folk bands and campaigned with his demo tape recorded in summer 1999.

2004, the publisher Chrysalis Publishing noticed him and offered him a record deal. LaMontagne took in just two weeks on his debut album Trouble, released the major label RCA, and have been sold of which according to its website over 250,000 pieces. The album was produced in Los Angeles by Ethan Johns.

On August 29, 2006 saw LaMontagnes second album, Till the Sun Turns Black in the United States. Here again acted Ethan Johns as producer, as well as the third album Gossip In The Grain, released on RCA Records on 14 October 2008. The fourth album God Willin & The Creek Do not Rise in August 2010 produced LaMontagne itself His current backing band called "The Pariah Dogs".
