Raynell Williams

Raynell Williams ( born February 4, 1989 in Cleveland, Ohio ) is an American boxer.

Career

Raynell Williams grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where she visited the Castle High School. At the age of 12 he began in 2001, encouraged by his father, with the boxes. The southpaw is a member of the boxing clubs SABA Cleveland, where he was coached by Clint Martion. The breakthrough in the U.S. top class succeeded Raynell Williams in 2007, ie at the age of 18 years.

It started with a victory in the so-called Western Trials. He won the tournament there featherweight with wins over Victor Valezuela, Efrain Esquivias and Daniel Martinez. In the subsequent 2007 National Golden Gloves in Chattanooga he came up with four superior point victories in the final battle against the 16 -year-old super talent Hylon Williams and subject to that almost 2:3 judges votes. His next start was Raynell Williams at the U.S. Championships in Colorado Springs. He defeated there featherweight Derrick Murray, Luis Del Valle, Troy Wohofsky and met again in the semifinals on Hylon Williams. He was able to turn the tables and beat Williams by points ( 31:21 ). In the final, he won then securely over Rico Ramos by points (16:9). Winning the U.S. championship title was his first great success.

Then Rayenll Williams played in Houston the U.S. Olympic excretion ( Trials ) for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He won there on Robert Rodriguez ( 17:6 ) and Shemuel Pagan ( 22:12) on points. He then won the first final against Hylon Williams just after points ( 17:16 ). Applicable for this tournament only mode according to, he had to compete against Hylon Williams to a second fight. In this Williams won by points ( 20:16 ). There it stood in the encounters of these two boxers now 1-1, had to choose a third fight on the way to the 2008 Olympics and 2007 World Championships in Chicago. In this third fight won again Raynell Williams just but earned by points ( 24.22 ).

Shortly thereafter, Raynell Williams represented in Bend the United States in a meet against Australia. In featherweight he won it on Luke Boyd by points ( 30:21 ).

At the 2007 World Championships in Chicago he won the featherweight over Khedafi Djelkhir from France ( 28:18 ) and Mazat Ospanow from Kazakhstan ( 28:0 ) on points and came over Azat Hovhannesjan from Armenia to discontinuation win in the 3rd round. In the quarterfinals, he met Albert Selimow from Russia, where he was defeated by points ( 8:25 ). Selimow was then world champion. Raynell Williams finished with three other boxers in 5th place, which earned him the qualification in America Group for the Olympic Games in Beijing.

In November 2007, Raynell Williams launched in Beijing in a well-staffed test tournament for the Olympic Games. He won there over Hicham Ziouti from France on points ( 23:8 ), then came to a noncombat victory over Li Yang from China and has been with point victories over Afanasi Poskachim from Russia ( 34:14 ) and Arturo Santos from Mexico ( 31:22 ) tournament winner.

In two adjoining countries fighting in Zunyi / China, he succumbed to the Chinese Gu Yu by points ( 16:22 ) and won over Galib Jafarow from Kazakhstan on points.

In 2008 Raynell Williams went in no significant Championships at the start. He concentrates fully on the Olympic preparation, graduated from the U.S. Boxstaffel in Colorado Springs.
