Rebellion Racing

Rebellion Racing is a Swiss racing team, which mitfährt in the World Endurance Championship ( WEC) ( FIA World Endurance Championship). The team won in 2011 (then the European Le Mans Series ) and 2012 the overall win the LMP1 class. The team leader is Alexandre Pesci and the manager is Bart Hayden.

History

The Speedy Racing Team, actually Speedy Racing - Team Sebah was the predecessor of the Swiss racing team Rebellion Racing.

Season 2011

2011 confirmed Rebellion Racing and Toyota Motorsport GmbH in Cologne, their plans for a LMP1 prototype. In October 2010, the two Rebellion Racing Lola LMP1 cars were completed with Toyota engines. Shortly afterwards tests in Portimao, Portugal, and Monte Blanco, Spain, tests. The car with the number 12 drove the Swiss Neel Jani and Nicolas Prost, the Frenchman, the car with the number 13 of the Italian Andrea Belicchi and Frenchman Jean -Christophe Boullion.

Le Mans

At the 24 - hour race at Le Mans in 2011 took the car with the number 12, which was started from eighth, sixth place. It was the fastest car with a gasoline engine. The third driver was the Dutchman Jeroen Bleekemolen. The car with the number 13, who had started from tenth, retired after 190 laps. Third party driver was Briton Guy Smith.

Le Mans Series

Rebellion Racing won the LMP1 team title with 51 points, one point ahead of the Pescarolo team.

Season 2012

On 1 February 2012, the German Nick Heidfeld was clear as a third driver of the number 12. New to the number 13 was the Dutchman Jeroen Bleekemolen and the Swiss Harold Primat. The car has since 2012, the colors of Lotus: Black and gold. Rebellion won in the newly created FIA World Endurance Championship ( WEC), the award for the highest placed private LMP1 team.

Le Mans

At the 24 - hour race at Le Mans in 2012, the car classified with the number 12, which was started from eighth place to fourth place behind three Audis. It was like last year, the fastest car with a gasoline engine. The number 13 started from ninth place went to eleventh place.

Season 2013

The driver of the number 12 remained unchanged. With the number 13 drive new addition to Andrea Belicchi the Chinese Congfu Cheng and the Swiss Mathias Beche. Rebellion succeeded in defending the FIA Endurance Trophy for private LMP1 teams, this is the only team that has played in this category all season runs of the WEC.

Le Mans

At the 24 - hour race at Le Mans in 2013, the team was very unlucky: In difficult conditions Andrea Belicchi caused by car number 13 has a serious accident in which he was injured. 2014 season

In June 2013 it was announced that Rebellion will participate in the 2014 season with a developed jointly with Oreca LMP1 vehicle called R -ONE at the WEC. On engine side of the collaboration with the Toyota Motorsport GmbH ( TMG) remains. The rollout of the vehicle is provided mid-March 2014. In addition, Nicolas Prost was confirmed as a driver for the new season.
