Red Snapper (Band)

Red Snapper is an experimental band from England. It was founded in 1993 by Ali Friend ( double bass ), Richard Thair (drums) and David Ayers (guitar) in London. In addition to the three founding members and guest musicians are involved in several of their songs, such as MC Det and Alison David on the album Making Bones.

The music style of the band is made up of elements of jazz, funk, jungle, trip-hop, hip-hop, but also of the early psychedelic rock and progressive rock. Red Snapper initially released three EPs before their debut album in 1996 Prince Blimey was released by Warp Records. In addition, they contributed numerous remixes to pieces by other artists, including a remix to the song Stupid Girl by Garbage. In 2002, the band officially announced their resolution; Ali Friend then played with the band Clayhill, and also the rest of the band turned to other projects. In 2007, Red Snapper came together again.
