Refuge Walter-Bonatti

The Rifugio Walter Bonatti is a refuge in the Aosta Valley in the Valais Alps. It lies at an altitude of 2025 m in the valley Val Ferret on the Malatrà mentioned terrain within the municipality of Courmayeur. The lodge is run from early March to late September and offers at this time 76 climbers sleeps.

The refuge is located both on the trail Alta Via della Val d' Aosta n.1 well as on the Tour du Mont- Blanc and the Tour du Saint -Bernard.

Rise

From Courmayeur you can take the car in the direction of the side valley Val Ferret. When the district Lavechey (1642 m) is a car park.

For the whole, no problems having path from the parking lot at Lavechey to Rifugio Walter Bonati is approximately 1 hour to be estimated. Alternatively, there is a rise over the Alp Gioè, which is 20 minutes longer.

History

The refuge was opened in August 2, 1998, dedicated to the famous mountaineer Walter Bonatti.
