Reg Presley

Reg Presley (born 12 June 1941 in Andover, England; † February 4, 2013 ibid, real name Reginald Maurice Ball) was a British singer and songwriter of the 1960s successful band The Troggs.

Life

Reg Presley founded with three other young people from his home town of Andover the Emeralds as a school band. Two members got out and Presley and Ronald Bullis made ​​in 1964 with two new musicians only as troglodytes and then as Troggs on. At that time he still used his real name Reg ball Besides music, he worked as a bricklayer until the band in 1966 with Wild Thing had its breakthrough. After that, he also got the stage name Reg Presley. He was not only singer of the Troggs, but also wrote some of their greatest hits such as With a Girl Like You and I Can not Control Myself.
