ReGenesis

ReGenesis is a Canadian television series that aired in the German language on arte. It was produced by The Movie Network and Movie Central in conjunction with Shaftesbury Films. It is about the scientists of NorBAC (North American Biotechnology Advisory Commission ), a fictional organization that deals with organic problems in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Its headquarters with a laboratory located in Toronto.

The series is mainly (played by Peter Outerbridge ) and his work with other scientists from the scientific director of the NorBAC, David Sandström.

ReGenesis was internationally one of the first series, the interactive media integrated into the series. So there is a scale in the universe of the series Alternate Reality Game; the combination of game and television show ReGenesis Extended Reality is called. ReGenesis has already won the Canadian New Media Award for Best Cross-Platform Project in 2004 and a FITC Design & Technology Award for Excellence in Convergence.

ReGenesis Extended Reality draws players into a world of conspiracies and mysteries, which refers to the series, but also goes beyond it. As the media to the Internet, e -mail and other means used to involve the player. The fact that the line between reality and fiction is blurred, ReGenesis Extended Reality has developed an active fanbase that stimulate discussions on the website and do joint investigations.

The Canadian Original series started with the first season in October 2004, which ended in January 2005. Seasons 2, 3 and 4 followed respectively in 2006, 2007 and 2008. The series was canceled after Season 4. In Germany so far only ran the first two seasons on TV ( Arte ). Seasons 3 and 4 were never synchronized. In Germany ( and some other European countries ) are the first two seasons on DVD. Seasons 3 and 4 one can yet acquire commercially only in Japan.

The opening music to ReGenesis is " Anywhere But Here " by Montreal band Behavior. Behavior is an alias for the producer and composer Michael McCann, who has also for the Xbox 360 video game Splinter Cell: Double Agent wrote the theme music. The soundtrack of the series was composed by Tom Third.

The producers of the show make a podcast ready ( ReGenesis: called Remixed) with the music of ReGenesis. Is looked after the podcast of Andrea Higgins, musical consultant of ReGenesis. ReGenesis: Remixed has a focus on the artists, the songs and the background music of the series and shows exclusive interviews with people who are involved in the production of ReGenesis.
