Reimer Böge

Böge ( born December 18, 1951 in rabbits Moor ) is a German politician (CDU ) since 1989, Member of the European Parliament and since March 16, 2013 state chairman of the CDU Schleswig -Holstein.

He is a member of the Budget Committee of the European Parliament from 2007 to 2009 and its chairman.

Life and career

After graduation in 1970 at the Jürgen- Fuhlendorf School in Bad Bramstedt Böge graduated in Agricultural Sciences at the Christian -Albrechts -University of Kiel, which he finished in 1976 with a degree in agricultural engineering. Since 1975 he has been an independent farmer in rabbits Moor.

Böge is divorced and has two children. In November 2006, he married again.

Party

Was about his father Kurt Böge, the member of parliament for the CDU in Schleswig -Holstein, Böge he soon came into contact with the policy. Since 1975 Böge is a member of the CDU. He is since 1989 the CDU Land Executive in Schleswig- Holstein, and was from 1997 to 2013 Deputy Chairman of the CDU state. For the state elections in Schleswig -Holstein in 1992 Böge was provided in the shadow cabinet of top candidate Ottfried Hennig as Minister for Agriculture and Europe.

From 1992 to 1997, Böge Chairman of the Federal Advisory Committee on Agricultural Policy of the CDU from 1998 to 2000 and again since March 2013 Member of the CDU Federal Board.

On March 16, 2013 he was elected state chairman of the CDU Schleswig -Holstein.

Member of Parliament

Since 1989 Böge is a member of the European Parliament. Here he was from 1992 to 1994 agricultural policy spokesman of the EPP Group from 1994 to 1999 Chairman of the Group WG Budget, Budgetary Control, Agriculture and Fisheries. In addition Böge was 1996-1997 Chairman of the BSE inquiry committee.

Since 1999 Böge is deputy chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group in the European Parliament. From 2001 to 2004 he was standing rapporteur of the Budget Committee for the EU enlargement. From 1999 to 2006 he was Deputy Chairman of the Budget Committee, from January 2007 to 2009 he was its chairman. Since July 2004, Böge substitute member of the Committee on International Trade, since September 2004 Member of the Delegation for relations with Australia and New Zealand as well as general rapporteur of the European Parliament on the policy challenges and budgetary means of the enlarged Union 2007-2013.

On the National Representative Assembly on November 23, 2013 in Neumünster Böge top candidate ( Rank 1 ), the Schleswig-Holstein CDU selected for the European elections on May 25, 2014 again.

Böge is a member of the European Union Parliamentarians European Parliament.

Social commitment

Böge was 1972-1975 Chairman of the Rural Youth Association of Schleswig- Holstein from 1973 to 1977 and Vice Chairman of the Federation of German rural youth. From 1977 to 1980 he was President of the European Council of Young Farmers.
