Release (Pet-Shop-Boys-Album)

Release is the title of the published in April 2002 by Parlophone studio album by the Pet Shop Boys. It is the total twelfth studio album, the eighth with new material.

Background

The album contains consistently to previously unreleased compositions. Compared to other publications of the Pet Shop Boys release was a commercial failure, and the reviews were below average. Peter Robinson ruled for the New Musical Express, for example, that the Pet Shop Boys, although the best band of the 20th century were, but this was their worst album so far. No other album by the Pet Shop Boys was sold rare. Three singles were released from the album, the accompanying video clips were all conceptualized by professional photographers, Wolfgang Tillmans, Martin Parr and Bruce Weber.
