Fundamental (Pet Shop Boys album)
Fundamental is the title of the published by Parlophone on 22 May 2006 studio album by the Pet Shop Boys. It is the total of 16 studio album, the ninth with new material.
Background
The album was recorded with producer Trevor Horn. It contains eleven new original compositions as well as Numb, which was written by Diane Warren. Originally Numb should be a bonus track from PopArt: Pet Shop Boys - The Hits to this but have been Miracles and Flamboyant. In the booklet of the album is to read that it is dedicated to two Iranian teenagers, Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni, who were hanged on 19 July 2005. The album title refers to fundamentalism. Neil Tennant said he was against fundamentalism of all kinds: . " 'm Against fundamentalism of any sort, I think we all are, are not we We do not want to go back to the seventh century, thank you I think we take religion too seriously. "
Reception
At the Grammy Awards 2007 was fundamental for the " Best Dance / Electronic Album " nominated, nominations, there were 2007 " Best Dance Recording " with "I'm with Stupid" and at the Grammy Awards 2008 as " Best Dance Recording " for "Minimal".
