Renato Corti

Renato Corti (* March 1, 1936 in Galbiate ) is an Italian priest and Bishop Emeritus of Novara.

Life

The Archbishop of Milan, Giovanni Battista Enrico Antonio Maria Montini Cardinal, ordained him a priest on 19 May 1962 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Milan. Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 30 April 1981 in Milan and Titular Bishop of Zallata.

He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Milan, Carlo Maria Martini, SJ, on 6 June of the same year; Were co-consecrators Libero Tresoldi, Auxiliary Bishop of Milan, and Bernardo Citterio, Auxiliary Bishop of Milan.

On 19 December 1990 he was appointed Bishop of Novara, and introduced into the office on March 3 of next year. Pope Benedict XVI. adopted November 24, 2011 at the Renato Corti put forward reasons of age resignation.
