Resurrecting the Champ

Resurrecting the Champ is an American film drama from the year 2007. Directed by Rod Lurie, the screenplay is by Michael Bortman and Allison Burnett inspired by an article by JR Moehringer in the Los Angeles Times.

Action

The sports reporter Erik Kernan recently separated from his wife, Joyce; he has a son, Teddy. Kernan leaves one day his editorial and sees that a homeless man defends himself against a gang. The reporter holds the martial art of homeless for skillfully and recognizes him as the former boxing champ Bob Satterfield. He then decides to Kernan to write an article about Satterfield. Kernan learns the champion better acquainted and thinks about his life new.
