Rod Lurie

Rod Lurie ( born May 15, 1962 in Israel) is an American film director, screenwriter and former film critic.

Life

Rod Lurie is the son of cartoonist Ranan Lurie. In 1968 he moved with his parents to the United States, where he grew up in Greenwich and Honolulu. In 1984 he graduated from the United States Military Academy, he served in the U.S. Army.

Lurie wrote film reviews for the New York Daily News and several magazines; as a director he made his debut with the short film 4 Second Delay. For this film he won the Canyonlands Film Festival Award, the Crested Butte Reel Festival Gold Award and the Jury Special Prize of the Deauville Film Festival.

In particular he is known as the director of the film character assassination - Beyond the moral of the year 2000, for which he also wrote the screenplay. In the film The Last Castle (2001), he worked with Robert Redford. He also directed the television series Line of Fire (2003) and Welcome, Mrs. President (2005 ), which he originally as a continuation of character assassination - Beyond the moral docked. After whose main Actress Joan Allen canceled, he gave the President a new character.

Lurie lives in Pasadena, California. He is married and has two children.
