Rhoden is a district of the city Osterwieck in the district of Harz in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geographical Location

The place is located in the northern Harz foreland between Great and Small Fallstein, northwest of Easter Wieck and southeast of Hornburg in Lower Saxony.

History

Rhoden belonged until 1648 to the bishopric of Halberstadt and then got to the Principality of Halberstadt. The place was directly subordinated to the Office Hornburg and arrived in 1815 at the Magdeburg Region of the Prussian Province of Saxony. In 1961 the place was immediately on the border of the GDR and was accessible only with a special permit.

On January 1, 2010, the formerly independent communities Rhoden, Aue- Fallstein, Berßel, Stage, Lüttgenrode, shows and Wülperode joined with the city Osterwieck together for new city Osterwieck.

The coat of arms was approved on 15 July 1997 by the regional council of Magdeburg.

The colors of the former municipality are red - silver ( white).

The community had its coat of arms for some time in use. It has been used since the 30s.
