Ricardo Alfonsín

Ricardo Alfonsín ( born November 2, 1951 in Chascomús ) is an Argentine politician of the Unión Cívica Radical.

Career

Alfonsín is the third son of former Argentine president Raúl Alfonsín. After a teaching degree in Chascomús he studied at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata Jura, but the study graduated from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Despite his famous father, he obtained in 1993 a first position as a national delegate in the UCR. In the 1999 elections, he was elected Members of the Parliament of the Province of Buenos Aires and stayed there a long parliamentary term until 2003. 2007 he ran for the office of governor, but failed clearly against Daniel Scioli. In 2009 he was elected for the UCR under the umbrella of the center-left electoral alliance Acuerdo Civico y Social, which also includes the ARI and the Socialists belonged as a deputy for the province of Buenos Aires in the National Congress.

In 2011 he ran as the top candidate of the UCR on the presidential elections.
