Career

Beginnings in Spain

Ricardo, who comes from the youth of Atlético, managed on the 2nd team of the " rojiblancos " the leap into professional football. From 1995 to 1998 he occasionally played for the first team, but was mostly substitute keeper. He spent the next four years with ascending trend at Real Valladolid, so that he was even nominated for the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea ( he remained as third goalkeeper without insert).

Manchester United

Finally, it undertook Manchester United as a substitute goalkeeper behind the Frenchman Fabien Barthez to stand with the possibility in the foreseeable future even in goal. In the 3 years in which Ricardo Utd at Man. was under contract, he still came to only a single league use. During the 2003/2004 season he was loaned out even to the Spanish side Racing Santander, after Tim Howard with another goalkeeper at Man Utd. was committed.

In 2005 came the final end for Ricardo who wanted to strictly enforce, as the Dutchman Edwin van der Sar from Fulham has been committed as a new # 1 and only the unloved position as No. 3 would have remained in the Goalkeeper Ranking for Ricardo.

Return to Spain

In CA Osasuna he found a club that gave him a chance in the Primera División to prove and he took advantage of this opportunity. Since 2005 he is a goalkeeper.

After more than 200 official matches, he left the club in the summer of 2012.
