Richard Carlson (author)

Richard Carlson ( born May 16, 1961 † 13 December 2006) was an American psychologist and author of self-help books on stress management and coping with life.

Carlson grew up in California in Piedmont. He studied psychology at Pepperdine University and received his doctorate at the Sierra University. He then practiced as a psychotherapist.

His first book was published in 1985. A bestseller succeeded with the " Do not Sweat the Small Stuff " series, the first titled " No problem " was released in Germany, and later as " 100 rules for ... ". In " No problem at all with the love ", he worked with his wife Kris. His "Manuals for the soul" he brought out together with Benjamin Shields. He has published over 20 books that have been sold in 135 countries and 40 million times.

Carlson died during a flight to New York on a cardiac arrest. He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
