Richard Hartley

Richard Neville Hartley ( born July 28, 1944 in Holmfirth, Yorkshire, England ) is a British composer.

Biography

Richard Neville Hartley began his music career when he worked as a pianist in Paris in the mid -1960s. Later he toured with the rock band Denny and the Witch Doctor by Europe. During the performance of the musical play Jesus Christ Superstar in London in 1972, he helped in the musical arrangement. Here he met the director Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien know the actor for which he composed several plays later. His film debut as a composer, he was The Romantic Englishwoman for 1975 published and directed by Joseph Losey film comedy. He wrote regularly from now on music for plays and films. So in 1985 he was for his music in Adventure Sheena - nominated queen of the jungle with the negative of the Golden Raspberry Award for the Worst film music. He won an Emmy Award in 1999 for his music in Alice in Wonderland.
