Richard Jordan

Richard Jordan ( born July 19, 1938 in New York; † August 30, 1993 in Los Angeles, California ), actually Robert Anson Jordan, was an American actor.

Life

Richard Jordan studied at Harvard University, before he devoted himself to the theater. He has appeared in over one hundred pieces on Broadway. In the eight years of his theatrical career he also directed a number of times. About the Joseph Papp 's New York Shakespeare Festival, he met his wife, Kathleen Widdoes, whom he married in 1964. Daughter, Nina, was born in 1966. However, the marriage lasted only eight years. From 1976 to 1985 he lived with Blair Brown; the two had a son Robert. Until his death in 1993 he was associated with Marcia Cross.

After its theatrical engagements Jordan in 1971 had his first film appearance in the film Lawman. From this point on, he played in the 1970s and 1980s in a variety of well-known films, but never got a really big star.

Richard Jordan died in 1993 of a brain tumor.

Remarkable

In 1980, he starred in the film Raise the Titanic, the role of Dirk Pitt. 2005, the same character of Matthew McConaughey in the movie Sahara was - adventure embodied in the desert.

Richard Jordan in 1993 was offered a role in the movie The Fugitive with Harrison Ford, but he was too ill to accept.
