Richard Lennon

Richard Gerard Lennon ( born March 26, 1947 in Arlington ) is a Bishop of Cleveland.

Life

The Archbishop of Boston, Humberto Sousa Cardinal Medeiros, ordained him a priest on May 19, 1973.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 29 June 2001 as Auxiliary Bishop of Boston and Titular Bishop of Sufes. The Archbishop of Boston, Bernard Francis Cardinal Law, donated to him on 14 September of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were William Francis Murphy, Bishop of Rockville Centre, and Lawrence Joseph Riley, Auxiliary Bishop of Boston.

Following the resignation of Cardinal Laws on December 13, 2002, he was Apostolic until the appointment of the new Archbishop Seán Patrick O'Malley on 1 July 2003 Administrator of Boston.

On 4 April 2006 he was appointed Bishop of Cleveland and introduced into the office on 15 May of the same year.
