Richard Schallert

Richard " Richie" Schallert (* April 21, 1964 in Brand, Vorarlberg ) is a former Austrian ski jumper and ski coach.

Career

His greatest successes were a fifth place at the Ski Flying World Championships 1983 in Harrachov and the bronze medal in the team competition with Andreas Felder, Franz Neuländtner and Ernst Vettori at the World Championships 1987 in Oberstdorf.

After finishing his career as a knight, he was from 1989 coach of the Austrian Ski Federation ( A-, B-, C- squad ). From summer 2006 to spring 2009, he was the head coach of the Czech national team.

From 2009 to 2010 he coached the C- squad of the German Ski Association.

From March 2011 to October 2012 Schallert was head coach of the Russian national team. On October 9, 2012, surprisingly announced by the Russian Ski Association his dismissal, the Austrian service man Gerhard Hofer.

Schallert grew up in a family with nine siblings and is of the seven brothers and three sisters of the third oldest; his brother Gerhard Schallert was also a ski jumper.

He attended the ski school Stams. Schallert is married, has a daughter and lives in Absam.
