Rimasco

Rimasco ( Rimasch Piedmontese ) is a municipality with 115 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Vercelli (VC ), Region Piedmont.

The neighboring municipalities are Boccioleto, Carcoforo, Fobello, Rima San Giuseppe and Rossa. The districts are Campo Ragozzi, Dorcas and Ferrate. Patron saint of the place is San Giacomo.

Geography

The community is located 82 km from the provincial capital Vercelli, at an average altitude of 906 m above sea level, in the Val Sermenza, a tributary of the Valsesia. The municipality covers an area of ​​24.28 km ².

History

The town was colonized in the 14th century, as almost the entire Valsesia of Walser, who mixed with the native population. Their culture is preserved and characteristic for the region.
