The 1528 m high Veliki Risnjak (Grand Risnjak ) is the highest peak in the national park Risnjak in the Croatian countryside Gorski Kotar in the Primorje - Gorski Kotar northeast of Rijeka in the northern part of the Dinaric Alps. Location

The Veliki Risnjak forms part of the Karsthochfäche, extending from Postojna in Slovenia to Delnice at the junction of Rijeka to Karlovac and between the river Kupa and the Adriatic ( Kvarner Bay ).

Fauna and Flora
