Delnice is located in the mountainous part of the historical region of Gorski Kotar in the Primorje - Gorski Kotar east of Rijeka. The population is according to the census of 2011 5.952 inhabitants for the entire township. The community consists of 55 Delnice villages and hamlets. The town has 4,379 inhabitants Delnice alone.
