RITES

RITES Ltd.. (Rail India Technical and Economic Services) is an Indian state-owned company, which is engaged in consulting, planning, construction and operation of transport facilities, mainly outside India.

History

RITES was established in 1974 as a company of the Indian Railways. Initially, the company dealt mainly with the management of railways outside India, especially in Africa, South America and Central Asia. As a result, the division was expanded content by also consulting, design, construction and operation of other traffic facilities, such as ports, airports, highways and urban transport planning have been made. Also, the activity was so far extended, as well as intra- Indian projects were adopted. The company has about 2000 employees.
