Ritual Carnage

Ritual Carnage is a Japanese thrash metal band. The singer, bassist and frontman of the band, Dan Montgomery, comes from the U.S.. The band has a contract with the French label Osmose Productions.

Biography

The singer and bassist Damian Montgomery played for 10 years before in the band Pagan Faith, then still in Tampa, Florida. As part of his army service, he moved to Tokyo in 1986 and played in several local bands of different musical direction. From 1990 to 1993 he took a break to first establish Scrap Tambourine, which were not very successful. Ritual Carnage then founded in 1994 with Alex Amedy and Bill Jokela. Also this year, up from Jokela and Amedy, which led to line-up problems the band. With the session members Shinjiro and Ken Sawada a demo at Morrisound Recording Studios in Tampa, Florida was recorded. The first concert was played in December 1996 in Meguro. Shortly thereafter Swada and Ken got out again, in order to concentrate on her own band. Alex Amedy got back. Hideo Inedo took over in 1997 the bass. Due to personal differences Alex Amedy rose in the same year again.

In 1998, the first album was recorded in The Highest Law Morrisound Naoya Hamaii became the new drummer and a few months later Shige Kamazawa got in as second guitarist. Among several offers, the band chose as Osmose Productions record label. Ideno left the band shortly before the album's release. Montgomery again took over the bass. The album was very well received by the critics of the metal scene. In established Metal publications, the album reached the maximum ratings.

Ritual Carnage toured in 1999 with Impaled Nazarene in Japan and with Immortal and Benediction by Europe. In the same year played Ritual Carnage three shows with Marduk. After the tours Kamazawa got out and was replaced by Nakabayashi. Towards the end of the year, the band flew back to the States to again in Morrisound record their second album, Every Nerve Alive. In Malaysia, the cover was censored. A European tour with Krabathor followed. After the tour Nakabayashi got out again and was replaced by guitarist Hidenori Tanaki of the black metal band Tyrant. Several compilations followed.

As a guitarist 2000, the brothers Masami Yamada and Wataru were brought into the band. A tour with Vader and later with Dismember by Japan followed. Eddie Van Koide replaced in 2001 Masami Yamada on guitar, Koide had stepped back in 1997 for two performances. Furthermore followed this year, a Japanese tour with God Dethroned and Krabathor.

In 2002 he released The Birth of Tragedy. With Naoya Hamaii now a steady drummer was found.

Was released in 2005 I, Infidel. Danny Montgomery took with Hiroyuki a solid bass player on board and has since been responsible only for singing.
