The Slaney River Slaney or ( Irish: Abhainn na to tSláine or Sláine, named after Sláinghe, a myth king of the Fir Bolg. ) Is a river in the southeast of Ireland.

The River Slaney has its source at Mount Lugnaquilla (Log na Coille ) in the western Wicklow Mountains in County Wicklow and flows first west, then south through the counties Wicklow, Carlow and Wexford, before moving to 117 km in Wexford town in the St. George's channel said part of the Irish Sea opens. Its estuary is a broad and shallow estuary and is as Wexford Harbour ( Irish Cuan Loch Garman ) refers.

Among the cities that flows through the River Slaney in the south belong Baltinglass, Tullow, Bunclody, Enniscorthy and Wexford. 32 road bridges and a railway bridge to cross it.

Be fished in season salmon and trout.
