Rob Sirianni

Robert " Rob" Sirianni ( born October 31, 1983 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is an Italian- Canadian professional ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Valpellice in the Serie A1 since June 2011.

Career

Rob Sirianni began his career as a hockey player at the 2000 Bonnyville Pontiacs of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, where he played for two years. From 2003 to 2007 he attended Bemidji State University, presented a team in the NCAA.

In 2007, he came to a use at the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League and six playoff games at their farm team, the Youngstown Steel Hounds. In the 2007 /08 season, he made ​​the jump to the ECHL, where he signed a contract with the Utah Grizzlies. In the following season he moved to league rivals Wheeling Nailers. In the same season he came to a few appearances for farm team Binghamton Senators ( AHL ). Middle of the season 2008/ 09 he moved to the Philadelphia Phantoms of the AHL, where he came to 49 inserts and 25 scorer points scored (13 assists and 12 goals).

In summer 2009, he moved to HC Val Pusteria from the Italian Serie A1. The following season he scored 81 points scorer (35 assists and 46 goals ) and thus was top scorer in the league. His contract was extended for one year in summer 2010 and Sirianni was with the Pustertalern after a final defeat Asiago Italian vice-champion in 2011. In July 2011, he moved along with his congenial strike partner Taggart Desmet to league rivals HC Valpellice. With the team from Piedmont, he reached the 2013 play-off final, but that was again lost to Asiago Hockey.

Internationally

For Italy Sirianni took part in the 2012 World Championships, but could not avoid relegation from the top division. In the following year, however, he succeeded with his team's immediate return to the House of Lords. He also was in February 2013 for Italy at the Olympic qualifiers for the 2014 Games in Sochi on the ice. It is true that Italy failed to qualify for the Winter Games, but Sirianni wore with his 1-0 lead in a 2-1 victory after extra time against Germany decisively to the fact that instead of the Germans, the Austrians can go to Sochi.
