Philadelphia Phantoms

The Philadelphia Phantoms were an ice hockey team in the American Hockey League. They played at the Wachovia Spectrum ( 17,380 seats) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After the 2008/ 09 season the team to Glens Falls, New York was moved.

History

The phantom 1996 Founded as a farm team of the NHL Philadelphia Flyers clubs with whom they cooperated since then. Some games per season they played in the Arena, the Wachovia Center.

In its history, the Phantoms had twice won the Calder Cup as the winner of the play-offs (1998 and 2005). Already in their first season, they were the best team in the league after the first round, but dropped out in the final round of early. The following years were very changeable - you either one of the best teams in the league or you missed the play-offs.

On 4 February 2009, Comcast - Spectator announced the sale of Phamtoms to the Brooks Group of Pittsburgh known. In April 2009, the league management explained that the franchise to Glens Falls, New York is relocated.
