Binghamton Rangers

The Binghamton Rangers were an American ice hockey franchise in the American Hockey League in Binghamton, New York. The venue for the Rangers was the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

History

The Binghamton Rangers were founded in 1990 as the successor to the Binghamton Whalers. In the seven years of existence, the Rangers reached the playoffs six times in which they were eliminated in the second round four times. In their first three seasons Binghamton subject in each case to the Rochester Americans while they were eliminated in their last two seasons already in the first playoff round. After the relocation of the Hartford Whalers of the National Hockey League and its renaming in Carolina Hurricanes 1997, the Binghamton Rangers to Hartford, Connecticut, resettled, where they play since the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
