Beast of New Haven

The Beast of New Haven was an American ice hockey franchise in the American Hockey League from New Haven, Connecticut. Venue of the team was the New Haven Coliseum.

History

The Carolina Monarchs in 1997 to New Haven, Connecticut, resettled, where they played as a farm team of the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers under the name Beast of New Haven in the American Hockey League. In his first season, New Haven immediately reached the playoffs, where they failed in the first round with a sweep in the best- of-five series at the Hartford Wolf Pack. The following year, New Haven missed the playoffs and was only fifth in the New England Division, after which the franchise was disbanded in 1999.
