Robbers on High Street

The Robbers on High Street are an American indie rock band from New York City.

Band History

Ben Trokan and Steven Mercado have been friends since childhood and grew up in Poughkeepsie, a town in the west of Dutchess County in the U.S. state of New York. After high school Trokan moved to New York City where he met Tomer Danan and made ​​music together with him. In Poughkeepsie Mercado came along with Jeremy Phillips, an old school friend. The four of them began in the summer of 2002 with joint appearances to Robbers on High Street called and brought out in 2003 a single. Published in 2004, the band at New Line Records their first EP Fine Lines and 2005, followed the debut album Tree City. 2004 and 2005 toured the Robbers by the States. 2005 Phillips left the band and was replaced by Morgan King, who can also play brass instruments and must be seen on the stage. Since 2006, the band at live performances by Matt Trowbridge and Dave Sherman is supported on the keyboard. After Danan had left the band in August 2006, Mikey Post took over the drum part in live concerts. 2006 came out the second EP and was released in 2007 with Grand Animals, the second album of the band. The rest of the year, the group went on a promotional tour.
