Robert Babicz

Robert Babicz (born 5 January 1973) is a Cologne-based musician who is one of the most famous representatives of acid techno. Babicz published under his real name and numerous pseudonyms Rob Acid, Acid Warrior, Atlon Inc., Department of Dance, Dicabor, Sontec or twirl.

Career

Robert Babicz was born in 1973 in Poland and has lived in Germany since 1980.

His first record Acid Trax Vol 1 Science was published in 1992 under the alias Colonel. With his single per Deux EP and the piece contained thereon Happy answer shortly afterwards published, he managed to move into the British dance charts. Two years later he co-founded with Michael Zosel the record label Junkfood Records.

Under the name Dicabor he released an eponymous ambient album on the Berlin label Space Teddy. As of 1999, followed by releases on labels Force Inc. Music Works and Mille Plateaux.

Babicz published together with artists such as Roland Casper (Joseph And His Cousin ), Mike van Dijk ( beekeeping Rob & Mike van Dijk ), Mate Galic ( hobby ) and Dr. Motte ( Dicabor vs. Dr. Motte ).

In 2010 he founded his own label Babiczstyle.

He performs regularly in Germany and abroad as a live act.
