Róbert Bezák

Róbert Bezák C.Ss.R. ( born March 1, 1960 in Prievidza ) is a former Archbishop of Trnava.

Life

Róbert Bezák joined the Congregation of the Redemptorists in 1979, put the profession in 1983 and received on 14 June 1984, the ordination. Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 18 February 2009 as Archbishop of Trnava.

The president emeritus of the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses, Jozef Cardinal Tomko, donated to him on June 6th of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Were co-consecrators Mario Giordana, Apostolic Nuncio in Slovakia, and Stanislav Zvolenský, Archbishop of Bratislava.
