Robert Gardos

Robert Gardos ( born January 16, 1979 in Budapest) is an Austrian table tennis player of Hungarian origin. He stood in the 2010/2011 season in the service of TTC Grenzau .. 2012 he became European Champion in doubles.

Career

Initial successes achieved Gardos as Ungar in his youth. He was European champion of youth in singles and mixed with Mihaela Encea (Romania ) in 1993. He was an Austrian citizen in 1996. This allowed him to participate in eight world championships and four European Championships for Austria from 2003 to 2010. During the season 1998/99 he played with the Austrian club TTC Kuchl in the Super League.

His heyday experienced Gardos before his move to the German Table Tennis League ( DTTL ). Before he joined the Russian top club UMMC Jektarinenburg 2009, he was already at the Champions League Spanish - favorites CajaGRANADA under contract. In addition to his active Spanish time he celebrated internationally as number three of the Austrian national team, his climax. Together with the Austrian regulars Chen Weixing and Werner Schlager 2008 he was third in the team competition at the European Championships. In the single managed to surprise, even here, he finished by a quarter-final victory against Joao Monteiro third.
