2012 Table Tennis European Championships

The 31 Table Tennis Championship took place from 17 to 21 October 2012 in Herning (Denmark) instead. Venue was the Jyske Bank Boxen arena.

Only Timo Boll was able to defend his title. He was the third time in a row and the sixth time overall European champion in singles. The women's singles won the Belarusian Wiktoryja Paulitch. In doubles, won the Austrian Robert Gardos / Daniel Habesohn and the Romanians Daniela Dodean / Elizabeta Samara.

For Germany there were two bronze medals, namely, by the women's doubles Kristin Silver Iron / Jiaduo Wu and the men's doubles Dimitrij Ovtcharov / Vladimir Samsonov.

For the first time, no team competitions were held, as in accordance with a decision of the ETTU Congress in 2010 from 2012 in even years only the individual competitions will be held.

ETTU Congress

On the parallel to the games taking place ETTU Congress, outgoing President Stefano Bosi (Italy ) was re-elected. In contrast, the German Eberhard Scholer resigned as Vice President. He was defeated in a vote of Frenchman Jean -François Kahn.
