Zhenqi Barthel

Zhenqi Barthel ( born January 9, 1987 in Laimin (China) ) is a German table tennis player of Chinese descent. It was 2013 Vice European Champion in doubles, 2006 and 2011 German champion in singles, 2006, in the mixed doubles. In 2007 she won the national ranking tournament of the ladies.

Career

Barthel was named at birth Zhen Qi Sun (pronounced " Tchentchi "). In China, it first belonged to the most talented young table tennis players, but could not prevail. That's why they moved was nine years old with her parents from the northern Chinese province of Liaoning to Shanghai. In the local sports school, she learned Na Yin know who played the German Club TS Homberg and established contacts for them to Germany.

In August 2002, she came to Germany in early 2005 she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Barthel, at the same time it took the German citizenship.

Barthel played long for Homberger Turnerschaft, proclaiming the ETTU Cup Ladies won in 2006. In the same year, she became German champion in women's singles. On 10 January 2006 they played their first international match. Here, she lost to the Swedish Carina Jonsson. After winning the national ranking tournament in 2007, she was nominated for the World Table Tennis Championships. While she was eliminated in the single ( first round ) and mixed doubles (2nd round ) early, she reached the women's doubles with Nicole Struse the quarterfinals. There she dropped out against Li Jia Wei and Wang Yue Gu of Singapore. In summer 2007, Barthel moved to Bundesliga DJK TuS Holsterhausen, 2010 Hassia Bingen ( since 2011 TTG Bingen / Münster- Sarmsheim ). In the World Team Championships 2008 in Guangzhou it was used in six of the eight matches of the German Women's National Team. In 2011 she was a 4-1 win over Wu Jiaduo for the second time German champion.

2013 moved Zhenqi Barthel to the Croatian club STK Dr. Casl Zagreb. At the European Championships in 2013 she won the silver medal with Shan Xiaona.
