Robert Horry

Robert Keith Horry ( born August 25, 1970 in Hartford, Maryland ) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played in the American professional basketball league NBA and won a total of seven NBA titles.

Playing career

Robert Horry was selected in the 1992 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets in eleventh position for which he played for four seasons. After his first season, he was appointed to the NBA All- Rookie Second Team. On August 19, 1996, he was then released along with Sam Cassell in exchange for Charles Barkley to the Phoenix Suns. After a confrontation with Phoenix ' head coach Danny Ainge Horry was suspended from the team and eventually traded on 10 January 1997 in exchange for Cedric Ceballos to the Los Angeles Lakers. After the 2002/ 03 season, Horry became a free agent. He finally decided to switch to the San Antonio Spurs.

Horry, also called " Big Shot Rob " while his career was a very effective crunch time player. Through his talent, he helped his team, where he went to work in his career, to seven championships. In the season 2006/ 07 Horry won his second championship with the Spurs. Leader is Bill Russell won eleven championships. Horry is next to John Salley (1989 and 1990 Pistons, 1996 Bulls, 2000 Lakers ) only the second player in the NBA history to be NBA champion with three different teams ( twice with the Houston Rockets, three with the Los Angeles Lakers and twice with the San Antonio Spurs ). On 13 May 2008 Horry contested the 238 play-off game of his NBA career and moved thus passing Kareem Abdul- Jabbar, who was previously record holder with 237 completed play-off games. On 1 July 2008, his contract ran out with the Spurs, so he became a free agent. In an interview, he announced that he still wants to play one more season for the Spurs, if that is not possible, he would like to end his NBA career with the Rockets. However, this was not possible and so ended Robert Horry after 17 years and seven NBA championship titles his career.

Horry came with his respective teams in each season of his NBA career, not just getting into the play- offs, but also reached at least the second round.
