Robert John Rose

Robert John Rose ( born February 28, 1930 in Grand Rapids ) is Bishop Emeritus of Grand Rapids.

Life

The Cardinal Vicar and Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, Cardinal Clemente Micara, ordained him a priest on 21 December 1955.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 13 October 1981 for the Bishop of Gaylord. The Archbishop of Detroit Cardinal Edmund Casimir Szoka donated it on 6 December of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Joseph Matthew width Beck, Bishop of Grand Rapids, and Joseph Crescent McKinney, Auxiliary Bishop of Grand Rapids.

On 24 June 1989 he was appointed Bishop of Grand Rapids, and introduced into the office on 30 August of the same year. From his office he resigned on 13 October 2003.
