Robert Thoeren

Robert Thoeren, native Robert Thorsch (* April 21, 1903 in Brno, Austria - Hungary, † July 13, 1957 in Munich, Germany ) was an Austrian- Bohemian actor, author and screenwriter.

Life

Born Robert Thorsch began his career at the age of 19 years as an actor in the theater, 1928/29, he also worked on Berlin Reinhardt theaters. In addition, he occasionally performed, especially at the beginning of the 30s, in films where he impersonated well-dressed types of all kinds. In Joe Mays "... and that's the main thing," he played for example a prince in fancy uniform.

Immediately after coming to power of the Nazis emigrated Thoeren to France. There he began his career as a screenwriter. Together with Michael Logan, he wrote the original manuscript to " Fanfares d' amour ", which 23 years later the basis for Billy Wilder's comedy classic Some Like it offered hot. Wilders prosecution and trim comedy became a worldwide success. Finally Thoeren left Paris and emigrated in May 1938 in the USA, where he still found following the film industry in the same year.

In Hollywood, he wrote mostly melodramas and adventure substances with Exotikflair to some films he created only the story template. Longer periods of lack of screenplay deals bridged the owner of a small plantation with the sale of oranges from their own harvest. 1943 requested Thoeren the U.S. citizenship. 1949 Thoeren went for a screenplay employees to London. 1951, the year was neuverfilmt (here as fanfares of love) in the in the Federal Republic of the script for " Fanfares d' amour" for the first time, he returned to Germany. After five years of film abstinence Robert Thoeren wrote in 1955 again some screenplays; his first in German language.

Robert Thoeren, its ( adoptive ) son of Konstantin Thoeren works as a producer and production manager, died in July 1957 in a traffic accident in Munich. He was married to actress Erica Beer.
