Robert Woge

Robert Surge ( born May 14, 1984 in Bernburg, Saxony -Anhalt ) is a German professional boxer and former IBF Intercontinental champion of the light heavyweight.

Wave graduated in 2000 from the school with a high-school diploma, and then began in Halle ( Saale) an apprenticeship as a carpenter, which he successfully completed in 2003. It began in 1997 when SV Blau-Weiß -rounders with the boxes and trained initially at Ulf Gonschorek and Gerald Gottwald. He then punched in the power center hall and from 2003 to 2007 as a soldier in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Frankfurt ( Oder). Robert wave is married and the father of two daughters.

Amateur career

He was already in 2000 German Youth Champion (A) and 2001 German junior champion. In 2004 he became German champion in the middleweight division, and in 2005, 2006 and 2007 German champion in the light heavyweight division. In 2008 he was German vice-champion, after he lost the final Gottlieb Weiss. In German Championships he defeated among others Ömer Yağcıoğlu, Anatoly Hoppe, Tino Gross, Hüseyin Çinkaya, Waldemar Beautiful man, Stefan Sittner, Björn Blaschke, Eugen Schellenberg, Gottlieb Weiss, Markus Finke, René Krause and Benjamin Schmidt.

Chemistry Cup

In 2003, he won a middleweight with a final victory against the two-time bronze medalist at the World Championships Yordanis Despaigne, 31 Chemistry Cup in Halle. At its 33rd chemistry Cup he lost the middleweight but already in the first round of the tournament the Czechs Petr Novotný on points. Chemistry at the 34th Cup, he won the light heavyweight against Daugirdas Semiotas (Bronze winner of the 2007 World Cup ), but then defeated the two-time world champion Evgeny Makarenko. In 2007 he joined light heavyweight at the 35th International Chemistry Cup in Halle, defeating it István Bencze from Hungary. However, in the final he was defeated on points the 2005 World Champion, Jerdos Dschanabergenow from Kazakhstan. The 36th Chemistry Cup in 2008, he won the light heavyweight against Dinesh Kumar, but then defeated Rene Krause on points. The 37th Chemistry Cup in 2009 he was able to finally secure the light heavyweight with wins against Daugirdas Semiotas and Abdelhafid Benchabla.

Other tournaments

In 2001 he won the 6th International Brandenburg Cup in Frankfurt ( Oder). He won it in the light middleweight against Oleg Besmelnitsyn (Russia), Hardeep Singh (India ) and Michel Henrotin (Belgium ). In 2003, he won the middleweight by final victory against the Englishman Nigel Travis, the 12th International Chemnitz boxing tournament. In 2009 he won the 18th International Chemnitz boxing tournament in the light heavyweight and was also voted the best boxer of the tournament. Four times Austrian champion and bronze medalist of the World Military Championship 2006 Oliver Obradovic, he hit in the first round co and added this thus to its first defeat premature. In the final, his Russian opponent Alim Borenov gave up already in the 1st round.

Professional career

In 2010, he signed a professional contract with Arena Box-Promotion, since 2011 he is part of the training group by Ulli Wegner of Boxstalls Sauerland Event. His professional debut winning wave on March 27, 2010 in Hamburg by the Technical Co in the first round against the Latvians Valerijs Gubins (2-0 ). On February 2, 2013, he defeated Hakim Zoulikha ( 18-3 ) by TKO in the eleventh round and won the Intercontinental Championship title of the IBF. This he defended in June 2013 by unanimous decision against undefeated Poland Dariusz Sęk ( 19-0 ).

On October 26, 2013 he lost his title by a point defeat at the Ukrainian Anatoly Dudschenko (18-2 ).
