Abdelhafid Benchabla

Abdelhafid Benchabla ( born September 26, 1986 in Zemmouri, Bourmedes Province, Algeria) is an Algerian boxer. Benchabla took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and 2012 in London, silver medalist of the Pan-African Games 2007 African champion in 2009 and winner of the Pan-African Games 2011.

Career

In 2007, Benchabla his first international championships, the Arabian championships, and won the light heavyweight ( 81kg - ) the bronze medal. In the Same year he also won the Arab Miitärmeisterschaften, battled with three wins and a final defeat Ramadan Yasser Abdelghaffar, Egypt ( 18:15), the silver medal at the Pan-African Games and the bronze medal at the World Military Championships.

Because of these successes Benchabla was also nominated for the African Olympic Qualification tournament in Algiers, which he won and thus qualified for the 2012 Olympics, in which he claimed wins in the first round over Dinesh Kumar, India ( RSC 3 ), and in the second round on Ramadan Yasser, Egypt ( 13:6 ), the quarter -finals, which he, however, against the local heroes and later Olympic champion Zhang Xiaoping, China ( 12:7 ), and thus lost 5th place.

2009 Benchabla won the Arab Championships, won the silver medal at the Mediterranean Games in 2009 and won the African Championships. In the same year he also launched at the World Championships, but failed after a first round victory in the second fight against Carlos Góngora, Ecuador ( 13:10 ).

The Pan-African Games in 2011 Benchabla won the gold medal with a final victory over Lukmon Lawal, Nigeria ( 18:8 ).

In the season 2010/2011 Benchabla fought for Incheon and Pyongyang in the World Series of Boxing and could all six battles to win. He qualified for the final of the individual championship of the World Series, so the struggle between the two most successful fighters of a weight class. Benchabla he met a Frenchman Ludovic Groguhe which he struck a unanimous judges' decision. With this success, he secured a place at an early stage the Olympic Games in 2012.

The season 2011/2012 played Benchabla for Astana and was able to win in this four of five fights.

At the Olympic Games in 2012 Benschabla was standard-bearer of his nation and won in the second round against Enrico Kölling, Germany ( 12:9 ), but lost the quarter-final against Oleksandr Hwosdyk, Ukraine ( 19:17 ).

2013 won Benchabla at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin.
