Robert Wyman

James Robert " Bob" Wyman (* April 27 1909 in West Ham, Greater London, United Kingdom, † 1978 in Surrey, UK ) was a British ice hockey players and speed skaters, among other things, in 1936 with his country was in hockey Olympic champion.

Career

Bob Wyman began his career as a hockey player in his native England at the Grosvenor House Canadians, for whom he played in the season 1933/34, in the English National League. From 1934 to 1936 he played for the Wembley Canadians. Further stations were the Richmond Hawks, Princes Ice hockey club and the Harringay Greyhounds. During World War II he served in the Royal Navy. After the war, he played for the Wembley Monarchs and Sussex, but was unable to repeat its previous shape.

In addition to the Hockey Wyman was also a talented skater. He held the British title hall about a half mile and won in January 1934 over 440 yards and the record outdoors.

Internationally

For UK Wyman participated in the World Championships in 1935, 1938 and 1939. Moreover, he represented his country at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, where he won the gold medal with his team. The tournament was also counted as World and European Championships, which is why he also won with his team this title. He was inducted posthumously into the British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 1993.
