Roberto Firpo

Roberto Firpo ( born May 10, 1884 in Las Flores, Buenos Aires Province, † June 14, 1969 ) was an Argentine tango musician.

Life

Roberto Firpo was successful both as a pianist and orchestra leader, as well as a composer. He was the first piano in the tango and his style influenced the tango of his time significantly. He left nearly 3,000 recordings. In 1916 he wrote the third verse and the arrangement of the most famous tango song ever for his Orquesta Tipica: La Cumparsita.
