Roberto Tozzi

Roberto Tozzi ( born December 17, 1958 in Rome ) is an Italian former sprinter who specialized in the 400 -meter run.

His most significant success was winning the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 meters relay at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. The Italian season in the lineup Tozzi, Mauro Zuliani, Stefano Malinverni and Pietro Mennea reached the goal in 3:04,54 minutes behind the teams of the Soviet Union ( 3:01,08 min) and the GDR ( 3:01,26 min). Tozzi launched in Moscow also over 400 m, but different in the quarter-final round. At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, he finished the season in fifth place.

Tozzis best results as a single starter over 400 m were winning the Junior European Championship title in 1977 in Donetsk and second place at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1984.

Roberto Tozzi is 1,80 m tall and weighed 72 kg in his playing days. He started for Pro Patria Pierrel.
