Roberval, Quebec

Roberval is a city (Ville ) and capital of the MRC Le Domaine -du- Roy of the Canadian province of Quebec.

Roberval is located on the southwestern shore of Lac Saint -Jean at the mouth of Rivière Ouiatchouaniche. In 1956, Roberval received city rights. The city was named after the French Lieutenant General of New France Jean -François de La Rocque de Roberval.

With a population of 10,544 in 2006, Roberval is the third largest city in the Lac Saint -Jean after Alma and Dolbeau Mistassini -.

In Roberval open water world championships were held in 2010.
